Wichita Falls Serves Some of The Best!
Before you answer, consider this true story.
Back in my cop days I used to sometimes stop at different restaurants for an evening meal. At one particular restaurant, we were munching on chips and hot sauce, or salsa if you prefer. Our meal arrived and was eaten in short order. Hmmm, did a short order cook prepare it? Anyway, we continued to munch on the chips until just a handful was left.
The waitress came to clear the table and leave the bill. I just happened to notice that she took the basket of chips over to the chip bin, which was in plain view in the dining room, opened the drawer, and dumped our leftover chips into the drawer with the new chips. Well now, maybe they were new and maybe they weren't. Now I have my doubts. My break partner and I looked at each other but we didn't say anything.
A few days later we were at a different restaurant. We told this story to the waitress and asked if she ever practiced this particular art of chip economizing. She looked around and replied "Sometimes, if there's a bunch of chips left in the basket".
Now, this was a few years ago. The first restaurant is no longer in business. The second one is. You'd recognize both names instantly.
Can you say Swine Flu?
