About the Webmaster

Here's a short bio on myself as a way of warning you that I might spin a yarn on multiple topics. I've worked in a snack bar, drove an ice cream, soda and candy vending route, served in the U.S. Army for 6 years, 7 months and 23 days. I initially went through Infantry training then Military Police training. I served my time in the Military Police Corps. I served on the Wichita Falls (Texas) Police Department for 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant. During that 20-year stint, I managed to pick up a Bachelor's degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls.

I worked as a Private Investigator for 2 years, worked as a production supervisor at Howmet (manufacturing turbine blades for jet engines), did battle as a substitute teacher for the WFISD for three long tours of duty, one being a long-term assignment teaching the Aerospace program at a junior high school, drove a school bus, worked at a Budget (car & truck rental) call center, drove a van and bus for Sharp Lines (medical transportation), served as an Offender Grievance Coordinator (supervisor) at the Allred unit, and worked as a Detention Officer for the Wichita County Sheriff's Department.

I am now in the trenches as a Correctional Officer at the Allred Unit in Wichita Falls. By the way, being a Correctional Officer at a male, maximum security prison such as the Allred Unit makes police work seem like child's play. I'll be writing a lot about the Allred Unit in the days to come.

As for hobbies, I'm an Amateur (ham) Radio operator, former skydiver, former flight instructor, former motorcycle rider, and former Tae Kwon Do instructor. I know there are a lot of "formers" in there, but each of them is by choice. I get bored pretty fast and I have a few more experiences to add to the list before the "end of shift"!

I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but I like writing about all of the possibilities!
